Teflon (PTFE or polytetrafluoroethylene) is a type of antiadherent technical coating with anti-corrosive properties that provides certain properties when applied over a surface, and it can help improve the performance and durability of the piece. It can be found in different formats for an optimal application depending on the morphology and requirements of the piece, being the liquid and powder, the most commonly used. Once applied, PTFE polymerizes at certain temperature so to achieve the desired antiadherent and/or anticorrosive properties. Due to the complexity of the options and the application methodology, an expert applicator shall be required in order to achieve a good result, and this can be applied over small pieces such as nuts and bolts, or great dimensions industrial pieces.
